Thanks to its generous supporters and volunteers, The Women's Fund has made grants of more than $1.4 million to nonprofit organizations providing a range of services to support women and girls throughout Middle Tennessee.
 

The Women's Fund is committed to continue growing our endowment and grantmaking capability for the benefit of countless women and girls throughout Middle Tennessee.

 

These 2017 Grantees received 36 grants totaling $165,500 from The Women’s Fund:

A Step Ahead Foundation of Middle Tennessee: To provide free, long acting reversible contraception (LARC) to Middle Tennessee women under age 30 with two or more children.

Actors Bridge Ensemble Theater of Nashville: To fund Act Like a GRRRL program expansion through manualization, facilitator training intensive, practicum in Nashville and new Hermitage chapter.

Avalon Center: To provide food, supplies, transportation, and starting over baskets for clients in our Crossville domestic violence program.

Begin Anew: To provide High School Equivalency classes for students at the Madison, Nashville and Williamson program sites.

Bridges of Williamson County: To provide 8 hours of childcare per week annually for children of domestic violence victims living in-shelter.

The Brooks House: To provide preventive and corrective physical, dental, and vision care and necessary medications for residents as they prepare to re-enter the workforce.

Center of Hope: To provide counseling sessions to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking.

Doors of Hope: To provide wrap-around services for our Phase 1 female client immediately after they leave incarceration and/or residential drug rehabilitation.

End Slavery Tennessee: To provide intensive and full spectrum aftercare services for human trafficking survivors.

F.I.N.D. Design: To reduce or eliminate patterns of absenteeism, truancy or behavioral referrals occurrences for MNPS girls by promoting life-skills and social-emotional development.

Faith Family Medical Center: To provide low-income women who are uninsured or underinsured quality, comprehensive, affordable well-woman medical exams.

Families in Crisis, Inc.: To provide services to survivors of domestic/sexual violence by providing them with resources to become safe, independent, healthy and self-sufficient.

Free for Life International: To develop a training program for medical students about the indicators of human trafficking in patients and how to respond.

Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee Inc.: To support Troop 6000, which will provide traditional Girl Scout troop experiences to homeless girls in Davidson County.

Girls on the Run of Middle Tennessee: To provide girls from low-income families the opportunity to participate in a youth development program that incorporates a  life skills curriculum with running.

Haven of Hope: To provide enhanced domestic and sexual violence victim services in undeserved rural counties through case management, counseling, and housing assistance.

Healing Broken Vessels: To provide training skills for  women so they become equipped and prepared for the workforce.

Hope Clinic for Women: To provide well-women exams for  low-income, underserved women in Davidson County who would otherwise not have access to care.

The Mary Parrish Center: To help defray the costs of healthcare, legal costs, food, and other essential emergency needs for residents.

Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation: To bridge the gap for at-risk women battling breast cancer by providing the support and resources needed during treatment.

Nashville Diaper Connection: To support The “No Child Wet Behind” program provides baby diapers to moms that otherwise might not afford them.

The New Beginnings Center: To provide individualized life coaching, personal development, nutrition education & specialized fitness training for low-income women for one year.

The Next Door: To provide additional addiction treatment services for all adult women.

Nurses for Newborns of Tennessee: To prevent infant mortality, child abuse and neglect through home visitation by registered nurses.

Pathway Women’s Business Center: To provide small business skills through classes, counseling and mentorships that builds financial empowerment for disadvantaged women and their families.

Refuge Center for Counseling: To provide affordable counseling services to female victims of sexual abuse/trauma, including both Wounded Hearts groups and individual sessions.

Rejoice Ministries: To mentor and train diverse youth dancers through staging of a groundbreaking, original ballet acknowledging the trauma of slavery.

Renewal House: To provide trauma-informed, gender-specific intensive outpatient addiction treatment for low-income women, including specialized programming for pregnant and postpartum mothers.

Rest Stop Ministries, Inc.: To provide long-term residential restorative care to adult female survivors of sex trafficking in a trauma-informed community of holistic support.

Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation: To provide breastfeeding education and support to mothers at St. Thomas Riverpark Hospital in McMinnville to increase exclusive breastfeeding and healthy outcomes.

Sexual Assault Center: To provide specialized therapy and support to low-income girls and women who have been sexually assaulted.

South Fentress Elementary: To teach middle school girls about setting goals, learning life, and giving their best effort while learning the game of basketball.

Starlings Nashville: To provide an opportunity for girls ages 5 to 18 to participate in a team volleyball program regardless of their socioeconomic background.

Thistle Farms: To provide support for incarcerated women survivors healing from abuse, violence, prostitution, trafficking, addiction and homelessness in Davidson County.

Women Are Safe: To provide court advocacy and meet other immediate needs of domestic violence victims in rural Middle Tennessee.

YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee: To provide safety, housing, and case management to promote healing and self-sufficiency in victims of domestic violence.
